I recently photographed Dr. Melina Diaz, a double board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases with over 20 years practicing medicine, and founder of Eticaid.com, a teletherapy practice operating out of her home in South Atlanta. She and her business partner wanted images that reflected both their professional credibility and the warmth of their therapeutic work. So we shot in two styles: environmental portraits in their workspace and clean, white-background headshots to match their website’s design. The result was a versatile library of brand-aligned imagery they could use across all platforms: LinkedIn, website, email signatures, and beyond.

Why I used it: I’ve worked with Nikon for years and love the way the system renders skin tone and color. The Z6III gives me a fast, dependable body with excellent autofocus, while the 85mm and 70–200mm cover the two portrait looks I use most often: clean compression, beautiful separation, and flexible working distance.

Why I used it: For portrait work indoors, I typically use the Nanlite Forza 500 as the key. It gives me plenty of range to dial in the exposure while allowing me to see the shape of the light in real time. I pair it with the Elinchrom 53" Rotalux Octa for soft, flattering light on the face, while the Flashpoint XPLORs handle fill and rim light when needed.
